2019 NATIONAL MANDOLIN CHAMPION
Recent winner of the prestigious National Mandolin Championships in Winfield, Kansas, R. Wesley Carr has demonstrated a rare ability to combine masterful technique and innovation while paying homage to tradition. He demonstrates a comfort amongst genres as diverse as bluegrass, classical, jazz and more and can be seen performing on a variety of instruments including: mandolin, guitar, banjo, and fiddle.
Augie's Lullaby- Winner in the 2023 NewSong Songwriter's Showcase (instrumental category)
This is a tune that I had been sitting on for a little while. My one year old son loves it so I've started calling it Augie's Lullaby. On a whim, I entered it into the 2023 NewSong songwriter's showcase at Walnut Valley. I also entered three other tunes that I had higher expectations for. To my surprise, this one was chosen as a winner. I'm truly glad it was this one... what better gift to give your kid!?
